Dr. Karen Comer
Dr. Karen Comer earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California at Davis. Prior to entering veterinary school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. After graduation from veterinary school she continued her formal post-graduate studies with a clinical internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and a clinical residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Georgia. Concomitant with the internal medicine residency, she also completed a Master of Science degree in physiology.
Dr Comer is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and is board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
She is also a member of the:

- Comparative Gastroenterology Society

Dr. Comer’s clinical interests include oncology (cancer medicine), gastroenterology (diseases of the stomach and intestines), and nutrition.
Dr. Comer’s furry family includes a whippet named “Cricket”, a Norwegian Elkhound named “Sonic”, and two cats named “Mr. Stubbs” and “Magik”.
Michelle left the dry environs of New Mexico to experience the green views of Washington.
She will likely be the calm voice that you encounter when you call the office or check-in at the front desk. She spent many years at the front desk of a primary care physician’s office before experiencing the furry side of the medical field. Her 4-legged family includes 2 dogs and one cat.
